Module 6 / Lesson 6.0
Welcome to Connection
Orient to Module 6 — Connection, the human texture of remote work and the fifth and final C.
Welcome to Connection – the last of the five.
Connection is the human texture of remote work: presence, relationships, warmth in cold processes. It’s sometimes the part people worry about most before they start, and often the part they value most once they’re in. Trust in a distributed team grows from consistent behaviour over time, not from casual contact. Visibility comes from how you communicate, from the signals your work sends, and from the presence you maintain in digital spaces day after day.
What this module covers
Four lessons, and the artefacts that complete your dashboard:
- 6.1 Presence Without Proximity – a personal presence plan for how you show up across async channels and synchronous moments
- 6.2 The Social Side of Remote Work – a connection portfolio plus your personal wellbeing-routine answer
- 6.3 Connection During Hiring – a sample warm interaction: an intro, two connection questions, and a follow-up note
- 6.R Connection Reflection – your Connection Profile, the fifth and final of the 5Cs
If there’s one line to carry through this module, it’s authenticity. Connection is built, not performed. The remote professionals who feel most connected aren’t the ones with the slickest video presence; they’re the ones whose behaviour is consistent, warm, and reliable, week after week.
How the 5Cs fit together
Connection is the C that holds the others together. Culture, Communication, Console, and Collaboration give you the structure of working well at a distance; Connection is what makes that structure feel human. By the end of this module you’ll have a personal presence plan, a connection portfolio, a sample warm hiring interaction, and your Connection Profile. With that, the dashboard is complete.
